Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature, with a book by Linda Woolverton and the magnificent score by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, and Tim Rice, Beauty and the Beast tells the story of Belle, an intelligent and independent young woman who feels out of place in her provincial French village. When her father is imprisoned in an enchanted castle, Belle bravely takes his place and discovers that the fearsome Beast is actually a prince under a terrible curse. As their unlikely friendship blossoms into something deeper, Belle and the Beast learn that true beauty comes from within.
