Our Land
About
Our Land dares to tread where few have trespassed before.
Orban Wallace seamlessly juxtaposes the two sides of the debate around our access to nature, giving voice to the different perspectives: those fighting for greater access to the countryside and the landowners who claim to be stewards of the land. Through organised 'mass trespass' events, the Right to Roam movement sets out to increase public access to nature, but finds itself in conflict with England's landowners. Orban Wallace pulls together these two disparate worlds into a sharply observed film exploring the complex issues of access, custodianship and conservation. Blending history with an eye on the future, the film challenges age-old beliefs around property that have shaped our relationship with the land for over a thousand years. And as the battle for nature continues the film asks the vital question, who truly has the right to roam?
