Home-Start Omagh District are delighted to be hosting a talk on 'Parenting young children up to 5 in the digital era: Practical things we can do to prioritise a play-based childhood.'This workshop, funded by Seed Funding via WHSCT is hosted by Home Start Omagh District and is open to all parents, carers, and those who work/volunteer with young children in the Omagh District.
Please join us as we bring together leading authorities in clinical healthcare and the early years space to provide current research, statistics, advice, strategies, tools and recommendations on how to parent young children in this current digital climate we are all navigating right now. The world has moved to a digital landscape, at a very quick pace, and we as parents and those who work and volunteer with children are navigating a world that is rapidly changing.
This workshop will provide talks from a paediatric OT, Speech Therapist and Forest School Leader as well as representatives from Smart Phone Free Childhood Northern Ireland (Smartphone Free Childhood) and a Play Consultant.
This will be a safe, non-judgemental space, for families to come together at a grass roots level in our local area. We want the attendees to gain information and advice on how to navigate the digital landscape and leave with tools and strategies and a desire to provide an early childhood focused on real life experiences and play as much as possible.
This is a free, funded event open to parents, carers, or those who work with children or provide volunteer support (sports teams/children's activity providers) - you must book your place to attend.
Tea coffee and refreshments will be provided from 7.45pm for an 8pm sharp start.
Please note: To support our funders in measuring the need for, and effectiveness of this event, attendees will be asked to complete a short two minute Google Form questionnaire both before and after the workshop. Your participation in these surveys is greatly appreciated and helps us to continue offering free, funded events in the future.
