Spring Sounds is a free, one-day public music event at Kingston University’s Town House, featuring performances, workshops, and hands-on activities. Relaxed drop-in format – register for priority access below!

*If your preferred activity has sold out, please book a 'WATING LIST' ticket - more places will be added closer to the event.

Book an OPEN ticket that provides access to any / all of the below:

- Try-an-instrument area (10am-12.30pm)
- SHOWCASE: Stands by local organisations (10am-12.30pm)
- MINI CONCERT: Brazilian Drumming (10.00-10.30am)
- TALK: Why music in Early Years? (10.15-10.45am)
- CONCERT: Music Wars (with live narration) (11-11.40am)

You can also book tickets separately for:

- TASTER: Music class for 0-4yrs by Monkey Music (10.20-10.50am)
- TASTER: Music class for 5-7yrs by Colourstrings Music School (11.50am-12.20pm)
- TASTER: Music class for 7-11yrs by Kingston Music Service (11.55am-12.25pm)

...and also, any of the following:

- WORKSHOP: Marching with Surbiton RBL Youth Marching Band (10.30-10.55am)*
- WORKSHOP: Samba Drumming with Community Drumming (11.45am-12.15pm)*

* No musical background is required (7yrs+)

Zone 2: ALL AGES & ABILITIES

Book an OPEN ticket that provides access to any / all of the below:

- SHOWCASE: Stalls by local organisations (12.30-3.30pm)
- MINI CONCERT: Choir Sharing (12.30-1.00pm)
- TALK: Why join ensembles & choirs? (12.40-1.10pm)
- CONCERT: Intergenerational Performance (2.30-3.15pm)

You can also book tickets separately for:

- WORKSHOP: Play with a band (leading to the Intergenerational Performance) by Kingston Music Service (1.15-2.30pm, performance 2.30-3.15pm)*
Learn (during the workshop) and perform (at the 2.30 Performance) a unique composition composed during the last 50 years:  In C by Terry Riley 
- WORKSHOP: Compose a music piece using graphics by Kingston Music Service (1.15-2.15pm)*
* No musical background is required - Bring your own musical instrument if you play one. Children  (7yrs+)  &  adults welcome!

- WORKSHOP: Playing Gamelan by Inspire Works (1.15-2.15pm)**
** No musical background is required. Children  (7yrs+)  &  adults welcome!

ZONE 2: 12.30-3.30pm

Zone 3: YOUNG PEOPLE

Book an OPEN ticket that provides access to any / all of the below:

- MINI CONCERT: Instrumental Sharing (3.30-4.00pm)
- CONCERT: Massed Performance (4.45-5.30pm)

You can also book tickets separately for:

- WORKSHOP: Rehearse with  a band (leading to the Massed Performance) by Kingston Music Service (3.30-4.45pm, performance 4.45-5.15pm)
Learn (during the workshop) and perform (at the final activity of the day) a unique composition composed during the last 65 years:  Timelapse by Michael Nyman 
* Some musical background is required (Grade 3+). Bring your own musical instrument (acoustic portable instruments only, no percussion or piano)

- TASTER: Music Therapy for  5-15yrs  by Sounds that Grow (3.30-4.00pm)

- WORKSHOP: Playing Gamelan by Inspire Works (3.30-4.30pm)**
** No musical background is required. Children  (7yrs+)  &  adults  welcome!

- WORKSHOP: Compose music for video games with Kingston University (3.30-4.30pm)***
*** No musical background is required. Young people  (12yrs+) welcome!
