Celebrating Women In STEM 2026
About
The Women in Chemistry Committee are excited to bring you the annual Celebrating Women in STEM Conference and Careers Event hosted at the Trent Building, University Park Campus, University of Nottingham on Monday 9th March 2026.
Speakers at the event include representatives from industries such as Rolls-Royce, Lubrizol, Muscular Dystrophy and Arup Group Ltd. A selection of careers stalls from industries and organisations such as the Business Partnership Unit, UoN Careers and Rolls-Royce will also be at the conference, with the full list of delegate speakers and careers stalls to be released soon.
This year, we would like to offer to all PhD students, regardless of gender, the opportunity to present their inspiring work at the event in the style of either a poster presentation, 3-minute thesis competition or 10-minute PhD talk. This can include both early/mid-stage PhD students, who we recommend presenting where their research is heading, and late-stage PhDs who can give a short summary of their work. There will be prizes up for grabs for all competitions!
Along with our inspirational female speakers, providing insights into their research and personal career path, we also have a variety of stalls from local industries, providing a great chance to discuss perspectives of equality and diversity within STEM, as well as to network for future career opportunities.
Stalls include (but not limited to):
- Business Partnership Unit
- Rolls Royce
- Arup
- University of Nottingham Careers Team
