Private View: Desire without Apology
About
Throughout history, women’s bodies have often been controlled or defined by others. The hidden history of the Tawaif shows a cold logic: where society can enjoy a person's art but deny their value as a human being.Sheli Gupta's works create a space where it is okay to be complicated, fragile, and strong all at once. Here, desire is not something to be judged. It is simply the warmth and rhythm of life. The body is no longer a silent object for others to watch. Instead, it is a storyteller with its own history and voice.
