Primary Basics-Using Notation in KS1 and KS2

In this fun and hands-on training session, you will explore practical and accessible ways to teach and use musical notation across KS1 and KS2. Beginning with rhythm notation, you will learn how to support pupils to build their understanding step by step, ensuring each new symbol is clearly understood and securely linked to prior learning.The session then moves into pitch notation, where you will discover creative strategies that use the whole body to develop reading and interpreting skills in an active and memorable way.
No prior knowledge of reading music is required to attend this session—but beware… by the end, you will be a confident ‘reader’ yourself!
Kindly hosted by Miers Court Primary School this is a twilight session running from 4pm-5.30pm.
As per our terms and conditions there is a charge of £15 for non attendance without prior notice.
This session is free for Kent and Medway state schools and has a session fee of £15 for independent and out of area schools. Please read the terms and conditions for full details.
