Willow Weaving Workshop - Woven swifts and leaves
About
Learn some basic skills and techniques of basketry and willow weaving whilst creating beautiful woven swifts and leaves. These are perfect for hanging on the wall to decorate your home or garden space..
Join The Coddiwomplers at our picturesque setting on Deepdale Farm to learn the basics of willow weaving. Emma and Stuart are teachers and basket weavers based in South Norfolk. Stuart has been honing his craft for over 15 years, with Emma joining as apprentice a few years ago. She is now a fully fledged member of the team and together they provide a fun, supportive environment in which to learn the craft of willow weaving.
Each course has a maximum of 10 participants which provides plenty of opportunity for support throughout the session.
These three-hour workshops are suitable for beginners, so no previous experience of willow weaving is necessary. However, some manual dexterity and hand strength will be required.
Our willow weaving workshops are held in the picturesque surrounding of our woodland barn, Downs Barn. Depending on weather, the course will be taught in the open air grass courtyard or under the shelter of the charming but rustic barn. Either way the venue will be well ventilated. Please dress suitably for the weather.
There is a minimum age of 18.
Teas, coffees and biscuits will be provided.
No accommodation is included with this course. We would recommend staying at Deepdale Camping & Rooms, which offer excellent self-catering rooms and camping for tents, campervans and motorhomes.
