Set in the 1940s on the submarine HMS Pinafore which is docked in Portsmouth harbour for a well earned rest from the ravages of war.
While off duty the crew are visited by their girlfriends and wives, as well as others from all levels of society, from the First Lord of the Admiralty, to a lowly war time spiv!
