Join us for an afternoon with Kate Davis to launch her new book.Kate Davis is a poet and storyteller. She was born on the Furness Peninsula and lives in Barrow.
Her poems have been printed, performed live and on BBC radio, made into films, remixed by a sound artist and regularly anthologised. In 2018 her first collection, ‘The Girl Who Forgets How to Walk’ was published. The book examines her experience of catching paralytic poliomyelitis aged four, and her relationship with the ground under her feet, in particular the lime-stone landscape of Furness.
FLOW is a verse novel about 6 women and what they do to survive. an extremely ambitious narrative poem of breath-taking scope and empathy - a story that traverses vast spaces of land and time, centred around Kate’s Cumbrian home. Flow was published by Verve Press in 2025 and she’s currently working on a narrative non-fiction book and a new poetry collection based of small stories.
