Why Art Matters - Fakery - Would I Lie to You?
About
The first of a new series of study days exploring concepts and ideas that shape the world we live in through the lens of art history. Drawing on examples from the Renaissance to contemporary art, we start with the topic of mimicry and fakery: from trompe l’oeil to AI in a post-truth world. We will think about the real and fictional, spectacular and banal; and what it means to edit, manipulate or recreate as a creative tactic. Friendly and engaging, these sessions are all about broadening knowledge, being curious and exploring different ways of seeing life through art.Alison Critchlow & Dr Lizzie Fisher
