Enjoy a leisurely springtime ride through the scenic Weardale countryside, taking in the season’s fresh colours, flora, and fauna. Along the way, you’ll hear a little about the history of the line, including its connection to the SDR, and even get a sneaky peek into the depot as we trundle by at a relaxed pace.Once we arrive in Stanhope, settle in with complimentary coffee and cakes before we make our unhurried return journey to Bishop Auckland.
Places are limited to 50 and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Connecting times are included in the timetable below for those travelling by train. There are lots of car parks close to Bishop Auckland Station (some pay and display some free but limited time so please check prior to parking).
