Science Community Day in Ashton Memorial
About
Science Community Day at Ashton MemorialThe Physics Department at Lancaster University is proud to host its fourth Science Community Day at the Ashton Memorial. Join us for a full day of free, hands-on physics and chemistry activities—there is something for children, parents, and science enthusiasts of all ages!
On the Ground Floor: Explore the inner workings of solar panels, wind turbines, hand cranks, batteries, and much more. We will also have live demonstrations featuring a Van de Graaff generator and a hydrogen-powered car.
For Young Explorers: Children can get creative by upcycling yoghurt pots into plant pots or transforming ordinary pennies into working batteries.
The LEGO Challenge: Do you like LEGO? Put your engineering skills to the test and see if you can design the fastest car powered by solar panels!
On the Upper Floor: Our inflatable planetarium will run shows throughout the day.
* Please note: Space is limited, and you must pre-book your spot before the event.
