Introduction to Qualitative Research (BCQR Training Series)
About
The Introduction to Qualitative Research event marks the launch of a new edition of the training series hosted by the Bradford Centre for Qualitative Research (BCQR). This series is designed to support and strengthen qualitative research capacity across Bradford’s diverse research community. This introductory session, led by Dr Rados Keravica and Dr Jamie Crowther, provides a foundational overview of qualitative research for those who are new to the field or considering incorporating qualitative approaches into their work. The session will explore ontological and epistemological assumptions, the types of research questions best suited to qualitative inquiry, and the distinctive role of qualitative research within health research.
Participants will be introduced to key qualitative methods, the nature and richness of qualitative data, and common approaches to data analysis. We will also discuss ethical considerations in qualitative practice and offer practical guidance on writing up qualitative research.
The event is open to all beginners in qualitative research and welcomes members of the wider Bradford research community, including interns from Born in Bradford, students of the University of Bradford, and all research colleagues interested in developing qualitative research skills.
Join us to build your understanding of qualitative research and connect with others interested in qualitative approaches across Bradford.
