Building a local regenerative economy from the ground up

Building a local regenerative economy from the ground up

About

Are you part of an organisation with a social and environmental purpose?

Would your mission be easier to achieve if the economy met real community needs (such as food, energy, housing, social connection) whilst caring for and restoring the health of the natural systems we all rely on?

Against a challenging back-drop in terms of climate breakdown, availability of funding, fractured communities, growing wealth inequalities and wider global politics, join other change-maker organisations in the District to explore how we might better be a force for good and support each other.

Outcomes:

- The day offers a space for connection, inspiration, solidarity and possibilities - a space to take a breath and lean into the community involved in regenerative work in North Lancashire.

- The intention is to create a short shared vision, some goals to inform future work and agree any next steps.

Aims:

- To bring together key change-maker organisations with a social and environmental purpose to consider their roles within a joined up regenerative economy
- To share relevant work and local examples in order to strengthen the eco-system of organisations and collectively identify gaps
- Inform the final round of the Pots of Possibility funding and explore whether there is a need/energy for a wider collaborative funding bid to take anything forward
- To create a space for connection, inspiration and support for all the individuals and organisations breaking ground in hard times

We have a small budget to help cover the costs of attendance for any organisation who could otherwise not join us. Please email ellen@lessuk.org for more information.

The day will take place at Patty's Barn in Cockerham. Please share if you can offer/need lifts when you book for the event.

You will also be asked to respond to these questions when booking your place:

What is your organisation’s main focus/aim?
What challenges are you facing right now?
How could a more connected regenerative local economy support your work? (see: https://foodfutures.org.uk/regenerative-economy/)
What would you like to get from this day together?
