Join Morecambe Bay Partnership for a guided walk around Birkrigg Common discovering its extraordinary archaeological story.With stunning views and wide-open spaces, the pure peace of Birkrigg Common attracts thousands of people every year. It’s a wonderful place to walk the dog, ride a bike, or simply take in the fresh air and gather your thoughts.
Birkrigg Common was probably just as important for past communities as it is today. This tour will explore the clues to how the land was used over the last 4000 years, both in life and in death that are scattered across the Common.
There are no facilities on the Common and the tour will cross uneven ground. Please wear suitable footwear and bring any refreshments you may need.
This is a fundraising event for the Charity, Morecambe Bay Partnership. Money raised will help fund vital projects supporting nature, heritage and our communities.
