Richard Davis (born 1965) is a British, Social Documentary & Portrait Photographer, based in the North West of England. Active since the mid 1980's, his style is a unique blend of documentary storytelling, cultural insight & attention to detail. His photographs, which can cover a span of 40 years, often highlight the textures, patterns & abstraction of everyday life.Davis is especially well known for his focus on Manchester's vibrant culture & in more recent times often gives talks about his approach to photography & the stories behind some of his well known photographs. Davis' work has been published extensively by Lower Block & Cafe Royal Book Publications.
A series of Davis' photographs of the Hulme Crescents from the 1980's are also held at the John Rylands Research Institute & Library at the University of Manchester.
