‘An Introduction to Supporting Young People Affected by Someone Else’s Alcohol and Drug Use’About this course
The course has a focus on young people aged between 12 and 26 years old, who are impacted by another person’s drug or alcohol use. Young people are impacted by other people’s substance use in many complex ways.
This session explores how we understand the needs of young people, the barriers they face, and how practitioners can respond effectively.
What will we cover?
By completing this training, you will be able to:
• Recognise that each young person has unique needs and experiences, and understand the importance of relationship-based practice.
• Identify the barriers to support experienced by young people affected by someone else’s substance use.
• Identify methods to effectively connect with, and to support, young people affected by someone else's substance use.
