About

This term, our students have been working hard in preparation for two performances of Engelbert Humperdinck's Hänsel and Gretel — the enchanting opera by the nineteenth-century German composer. Following the great success of Wally Opera's previous productions of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas in 2023 and Mozart's The Magic Flute in 2024, we are thrilled to bring this much-loved fairytale to the stage, complete with gingerbread house and wicked witch.

All roles are sung by our own students from Years 7 to 13 — a real showcase of the breadth and quality of music-making here at Walthamstow Hall. The performance runs to around an hour across three short acts with no interval, and is suitable for all ages.

Complimentary refreshments will be served in the Hub at the end of the performance.

Our two performances take place in the Ship Theatre:
