Fairfield Nature Reserve walk
Fairfield nature reserve walk
Exploring the beautiful reserve in spring, this evening walk is a relaxing end to your weekend, amongst a gentle group. We will listen out for bird song as we go. A more civilised time of day than the dawn chorus, at dusk it is also much easier to distinguish between species.
About Fairfield Nature Reserve:
Fairfield Nature Reserve is an oasis for wildlife, located between Lancaster canal and the river Lune. An important stopping-off point for migrant bird species, it also provides a more permanent home to resident and breeding birds. The site is maintained using traditional methods, such as hedge-laying and hand-scything, by enthusiastic volunteers to encourage biodiversity.
