Inspired by Jules Verne’s novel ‘Around the World in 80 Days’, the Magdalen Wine Society invites you to undertake an evening of global exploration. Our aim is discovery; this guided tour introduces wines from regions less frequently encountered in conventional tastings, broadening horizons within the wine landscape.The eight selected wines offer diversity in climate, grape variety, and winemaking approach, revealing how geography and technique influence each country’s product. Tasted side by side, they allow more inexperienced wine drinkers to gain a clearer sense of how to identify structure and flavour, while offering seasoned members the opportunity to investigate what distinguishes vastly contrasting regional styles from one another.
