How Families Can Take Part
You can choose to:
Drop off your young person, or
Stay for some or all of the day (no ticket needed for observing adults), or
Join in the activities yourself — please book an adult ticket if taking part.
All places are free, and families are warmly welcomed.
Staffing Ratios — Physical & Felt Safety
We want the days to feel inclusive, relaxed and fun.
LOPC normally provides 1 instructor per group of 10, but they may allocate 2 instructors for our group if needs are communicated in advance.
Instructors are highly experienced with care‑experienced children as LOPC facilitates emergency schooling provision for children entering the care system.
In addition, we typically have 2–3 parents/carers watching or joining in.
LAFS aims to ensure at least one additional adult stays with the group, especially during lunch and unstructured times.
If your child is new to LOPC or may struggle with group dynamics, please consider staying to support them.
Activities May Include
Climbing, abseiling, bouldering, high ropes, low ropes, paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, raft‑making, bell‑boating, archery, axe throwing, bushcraft (fire lighting, den building).
Activities are chosen closer to the date based on weather and staffing.
