Are You Employment Bill Ready?
About
The April 2026 employment law changes are here. This session tells you exactly what's changed and what you need to update.
In this practical 90-minute session, Emma Browning CIPD will cut through the noise and tell you exactly what matters for your business:
- Statutory sick pay from day one — what this means for your absence policies
- Paternity and parental leave now day-one rights — are your contracts ready?
- The new Fair Work Agency — what it means for SMEs
- Unfair dismissal changing to 6 months' service — the big one coming January 2027, with impacts from July 2026
This isn't a dry legal update. It's an interactive session with time for your questions and practical advice you can act on immediately.
The Employment Rights Act 2023 has introduced the most significant changes to UK employment law in decades. For SMEs without an in-house HR team, keeping up with what's changed — and what it means in practice — is a real challenge. We've written about the key changes on our blog, including the new rules around managing sickness absence, the Fair Work Agency and its enforcement powers, and what day one employment rights mean for your contracts and policies.
This workshop brings it all together in one session, with time to ask questions about your specific situation.
Places are limited to 16 people. Arrival from 9:15am with light breakfast and the chance to meet other local business owners. Session runs 10:00–11:30am, with optional networking until midday.
