Wang Bang Willy Wagon (SOLD OUT)
About
Wang Bang Willy Wagon is a dark satirical drama about a volunteer-run immersive theatre company that calls itself a community, but operates like a cult. When Arjun, an ambitious young director obsessed with being taken seriously joins the company, he thinks he’s found his big break. Instead, he finds a machine, powered by unpaid labour, class guilt, and the intoxicating promise of finally belonging.
Led by charismatic founders who preach radical politics, Wang Bang Willy Wagon weaponises purpose. It feeds on volunteers hungry for validation. It knows exactly how to make exploitation feel like opportunity.
Arjun sees the red flags. He stays anyway.
He works for free. He defends the founders. He ignores what it’s costing him. The closer he gets to recognition, the harder he tells himself that this is what success looks like. Recognition feels close enough to taste.
As Arjun drains his own relationships and moral clarity, can he separate his need for belonging with the reality of what he is fuelling?
Funny, unsettling, and uncomfortably recognisable, Wang Bang Willy Wagon asks a simple question: How far will you go to feel important?
