Bury Cancer Support Centre Cross Bay Walk Fundraiser
About
A very warm welcome from the Cross Bay Walk team at Save Grange Lido to the supporters of Bury Cancer Support Centre joining us on this, our 5th, Cross Bay Walk. We hope that you enjoy the spectacular walk across the stunning sands of Morecambe Bay while raising awareness of the fantastic services provided by Bury Cancer Support Centre and hopefully raising some funds for them too.Ticket prices: Adults £17.50, Children (aged 8 to 16 inclusive) £10, Dogs £5 (Maximum of 2 dogs per adult at the request of the Guide over Sands Trust). The minimum age to participate in the walk is 8 years.
The proceeds from the adult and child ticket sales for this event go to Save Grange Lido who are the organising charity for this Cross Bay Walk on 12th July 2026. The proceeds from the dog ticket sales go to the Guide over Sands Trust to help maintain the tractors which are an essential element of the Cross Bay Walk.
Guided by Michael Wilson, the King’s Guide to the Sands, you’ll walk from Arnside, leaving at around 3:30pm, across the bay to Grange-over-Sands travelling some 7 to 8 miles by a safe route.
People have been enjoying this unique walk across the perilous sands of Morecambe Bay for centuries. This special day out will be an experience that will stay with you a lifetime. The author Bill Bryson once described it as the most beautiful Bay in England – who are we to argue.
Depending on the sands the route varies but the walk usually takes around 3 hours.
