Audio-visual artist, Kathy Hinde and Potsdam-based flautist and composer, Sabine Vogel, have been collaborating as ORNIS since 2009. Their sonic palette emerges from flutes, electronics, field recordings and objects, and here they present a new piece inspired by the location and its more-than-human inhabitants following a short, exploratory residency at Rattle and Brash.They’ll be joined by Bristol-based musician, Luigi Marino whose work explores emergent phenomena involving people, objects, and whatever lies between their shifting definitions. An active improviser, he performs percussion, bowed cymbals and electronics.
Luigi and Sabine also have a long-standing duo, UCCELLO-ACQUATICO, that explores the sound-worlds of metal resonances, air columns and vibrations between their acoustic instruments.
Expect an evening of shifting sonic palettes as these three musicians perform in multiple-configurations.
