The Chamber Concert, described by some as the most civilised of concert of the LEH year, is coming to the Theatre on Tuesday 24th March 2026. It’s an exquisite abundance of the music of dead male composers (Brahms, Mendelssohn, Poulenc, Shostakovich and Bizet etc.) and one living one (Mr Ashe). (We’re going to undertake major research into female chamber music composers for next year – Fanny Mendelssohn springs to mind as an opening gambit.)
This year, however, we have String, Wind and Brass Quartets and Quintets, Piano Trios and a Percussion Quintet as well as Opera, Violin and Harp Trios, performed by the ridiculously talented scholars of LEH. That one living composer I mentioned has written his exciting choral and orchestral world premieres for the Music Scholars of LEH, so it should be a stimulating and entertaining evening!
