Summerhouse Community Farm was bought by LESS (Lancaster District) CIC in February 2025 with the support of UK Shared Prosperity Funding and a local trust.The purchase of the site is part of a wider vision of North Lancashire’s FoodFutures Partnership to see more land put into community ownership and being used for sustainable agriculture, education and growing healthy soils and sustainable food for local residents.
Since the purchase in February 2025 LESS has facilitated a year of observation activities, surveys, workshops and co-design sessions to shape what it becomes. This process has been shaped by Permaculture Design principles.
Join this event for a tour of the three acre site and to learn more about the emerging permaculture design and how to get involved. This will by a range of practical activities that start to bring the Summerhouse Community Farm dream alive!
People can join the tour at 10am - 11am, even if they dont want to join for the whole 10am-2pm session.
