Gwrych Castle is an enchanting Gothic ruin perched on North Wales’ picturesque coastline, offering spectacular sea views and fairytale splendour around every corner. Gwrych Castle offers an unforgettable day out for families, history enthusiasts, and photography enthusiasts alike.Famous as the filming location for ITV’s “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!”, Gwrych Castle combines rich Welsh heritage with modern entertainment history. Explore original filming elements displayed throughout our scenic visitor route and discover the stories behind this magnificent 19th-century castle.
While the main building remains a ruin, we’ve carefully opened some interior areas along our scenic visitor route, allowing you to step inside some of the rooms.

What to Expect
Built into a hillside, Gwrych Castle features uneven terrain with steps, slopes, and steep footpaths throughout the estate. The castle ruins offer an authentic historical experience in a naturally challenging environment.

Important: Due to the castle’s hilltop location and ruined state, the terrain includes uneven surfaces, multiple steps, slopes, and steep footpaths. Many routes are unsuitable for pushchairs, mobility scooters, and wheelchairs.

We provide an accessible route for disabled visitors during normal opening hours (excluding events):
