A new play from the works of P.G. Wodehouse by the Goodale Brothers.By arrangement with Nick Hern books.
17-20th June 2026
Join us for an evening of Propriety, Pernicious Aunts, and Perfect Nonsense!
P.G. Wodehouse’s iconic duo; the hapless gadabout, Bertie Wooster, and his astute but faithful valet, Jeeves, star in this adaptation by the Goodale Brothers of an eventful weekend at Totleigh Towers.
When Bertie is summoned away from a lazy weekend by his formidable Aunt Dahlia and ordered to visit an antiques dealer to ‘sneer’ at a cow creamer in order to reduce its retail value, he discovers that his calamitous day has only just begun.
After being accused of stealing the item by the abominable Sir Watkyn Basset, he is sent to Totleigh Towers to actually steal it. His troubles escalate when he is further enlisted to prevent the breaking up of his two good friends; newt-obsessed Gussie Finknottle, and his on-again-off-again fiancé, Madeline Basset. Caught in the middle of several plots and numerous schemes, Bertie must rely on his wits and cunning to save the day.
If only he had any.
Luckily for Bertie, the imperturbable Jeeves is ready to step in; straightening out the chaos like creases in a shirt, and deftly pushing solutions and scenery towards a frenetic conclusion.
This fast-paced farce is not to be sneered at - unlike some ‘Modern Dutch’ cow creamers!
