Womens’ Music Collective Open Mic Night
About
Presenting the 1st open mic night from the Womens’ Music Collective. We are providing a safe space to encourage women, non binary and GNC musicians to come and perform in a relaxed and welcoming environment with a supportive audience.
Maybe you are a seasoned performer who wants to try something new, have not done something for ages or this will be your first time? All levels and abilities are welcome!
Slots to play will be sign up on the night and be 2-3 songs per slot
PA and x2 mics provided but please bring your own instrument/equipment*
We will also be providing time and space to encourage networking and to foster new musical relationships.
We are asking for donations (suggested £5) either by buying a ticket here or paying on the door, initially to cover the cost of the room hire and then anything taken over that amount will help us to run future open mics and jam sessions.
Doors open from 7:30pm with music starting at 8pm.
The Womens’ Music Collective was set up recently to encourage women, non binary and GNC musicians and people with an interest in music to connect and participate in the local music scene. It aims to encourage new musicians by raising confidence and sharing contacts, aims to give a platform to underrepresented individuals and aims to give experienced musicians an opportunity to try new things in safe and supportive environment where we all learn from each other.
*please contact Helen or Charlie in advance if you need help with borrowing equipment or if you have any other questions prior to the event.
