Upper Duddon Landscape Recovery site visit: 12th July, 2026
Join us one year into the 20 year Upper Duddon Landscape Recovery project for an update on our work and an informal guided walk with project staff.
Landscape Recovery is designed to work with farmers and other land managers to manage the land in ways that will improve soil and water quality and reverse the decline in nature. In the Upper Duddon we have already been busy improving habitats, peatland restoration, creating wood pasture and restoring native woodland. We have created 14 jobs and secured farm businesses for our project farmers, and we are successfully working in partnership with the National Trust, Forestry England, the University of Leeds, the University of Cumbria, South Cumbria Rivers Trust and the local community.
There will be easy and moderate versions of the walk, and we will cover some highlights of the first year of the project, with plenty of time for questions.
More details and directions will be sent out with bookings.
