Entry is free; some activities must be booked in advance. Family-friendly day on the farm.We’re delighted to once again take part in LEAF Open Farm Sunday, opening the gates at Preston Hall Farm, based at Rosemains Steading, to welcome the public for a free and educational day on the farm.
Open Farm Sunday is about helping people understand where their food comes from, how it is produced, and the role farming plays in caring for the countryside. Whether you’re local or visiting for the first time, there’s something for all ages to enjoy.
What to expect on the day

These organisations will help explain farming, livestock, animal health, and career pathways in an accessible and engaging way.
🎨 Open studios at Rosemains Steading
Residents of Rosemains Steading will be opening their studio spaces, showcasing a range of local businesses, crafts, and creative enterprises alongside the farming activities.
🍔 Food & drink
A selection of local food and drink vendors will be on site throughout the day, offering refreshments and showcasing regional produce.
🚜 Trailer tours (pre-booked required)
Guided trailer tours of the farm will be available at selected times, offering visitors a chance to see more of the farm and hear directly about how it is managed.
Tractor tours must be booked in advance and are limited in number to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
