Lower 6th A Level Drama Devised Performance EveningFriday 26th June 2026, CIIP, 6pm arrival for 6.30pm start and approx. a 7pm finish.
The students have created their own piece of devised theatre on the style and method of an influential practitioner. They have chosen to work with the style of a theatre company called The Paper Birds. The Paper Birds are a devising theatre company, with a social and political agenda. Theya re recognised as UK leaders in devised verbatim theatre. They pride themselves on taking complex, multi-faceted subjects and making them accessible. Verbatim theatre is a type of documentary theatre constructed from the words of real people responding to a particular theme or real event. These words might be taken from interviews or testimonials, or even from the media or news footage.
How do you keep living when a part of you is suddenly gone? If the last words you spoke to them were ordinary, and you did not know they would be the last? How do you live with the silence that follows? When everything changes in a moment, where do you go and who are you without what you have lost?
