Bethany School Speech Day
About
Our annual Speech Day, Reunion Day and Prizegiving Ceremony which will take place on the morning of Saturday, 20th June 2026.Ex Headmaster, Bill Harvey, is the guest of honour this year. In addition, this year we are inviting everyone to stay for an afternoon event to wish Mr Healy well for his retirement and to thank him for his long service to Bethany.
Bethany Alumni, and their guests, are welcome to arrive from 9:00. Upon arrival, there will be a Leavers' Service in the School Chapel for our most recent 2026 Leavers, which alumni are more than welcome to attend.
From 10:00, refreshments will be available in the centre of campus. There will also be a range of Drama and Music performances, and subject displays.
At 11:00, parents, pupils and staff are requested to make their way to the Sports Hall to take their seats for the Prizegiving Ceremony, which will begin promptly at 11:30. This will include speeches from our guest speaker Bill Harvey, Jonathan Fenn (Chair of Governors) and Francie Healy (Headmaster). The ceremony is expected to finish at approximately 13:15. If space allows alumni and friends of Bethany will be able to join the Prizegiving Ceremony.
For those who do not wish to attend the Prizegiving Ceremony, tours of the Bethany campus will be available from 11.00 until 13.15.
Following this, we would like to invite everyone to join us for a picnic by the Assembly Hall to mark the Headmaster’s retirement. There will be a speech by Mr Jonathan Fenn at approximately 2pm to mark Mr Healy's long service to Bethany.
In addition, you are very welcome to bring your own picnic food, or you may purchase a picnic box from the School, for £9 per person. These will be produced by Holroyd Howe (our wonderful in School caterers) and available for collection on the day.
Please do bring a picnic rug or seating. There will also be an ice cream van offering refreshment, as well as a Pimm’s tent and a bar, courtesy of FOBS (Friends of Bethany School), so do bring cash or card to purchase.
