Experience the classical soundscape at All Saints Church: this performance explores the connection between Haydn, Beethoven, and the legendary English piano maker John Broadwood.Haydn’s brilliant Sonata in C (Hob. XVI:50) was composed in London, inspired by the English Broadwood pianos he encountered there for the first time. Decades later Beethoven famously received a Broadwood grand as a gift, influencing his later masterpieces like the 6 Bagatelles Op. 126. Although the piano has gone through many changes since then, performing these works on our Broadwood offers an opportunity for the listener to hear this music close to the way the masters imagined it.
