Today, it stands as a remarkable historical landscape and a peaceful resting place for many notable Lancastrians.This unique tour, led by experienced guide Peter Wilkinson, invites visitors to uncover the hidden narratives behind the cemetery’s striking graves and monuments. Each headstone represents a life once lived, some marked by achievement, others by tragedy, offering a deeply human glimpse into Preston’s rich and diverse heritage.
Designed by local architect Thomas Denville Barry, to form a butterfly shape when viewed from above, adding artistic and symbolic significance to the site.
