Simon Armitage: An Evening in Grasmere

Join Poet Laureate Simon Armitage for an unmissable poetry reading in Grasmere. The event will take place at the Daffodil Hotel – on the shore of Grasmere lake and only a short walk from Dove Cottage, where former Poet Laureate William Wordsworth wrote some of his greatest poetry.
Simon Armitage is Professor of Poetry at the University of Leeds. A recipient of numerous prizes and awards, his collections include Magnetic Field (2020), Never Good with Horses (2023), Blossomise (2024) and Dwell (2025).
Copies of Simon Armitage's books will be on sale (cash and card) with a book signing following the reading. Drinks will be available from the Lobby Bar.
Doors open 6.30pm; event start time 7.30pm.

Access
- Five free tickets are available for those experiencing financial hardship that would otherwise not be able to attend. This is on a first come first served basis with no questions asked about your situation.
- Accompanying carers/personal assistants are admitted free of charge; please select the ‘1 Adult plus Free Carer/Personal Assistant’ option when making a booking.
- The Daffodil Hotel & Spa has level access and the Waterside Room, Lobby Bar and toilets are located on the ground floor. The car park is located at the hotel entrance on a level, tarmac surface.
- Additional parking is available at Wordsworth Grasmere and there are a number of car parks in Grasmere within 5-10 minutes' walk from the venue.
