Bromborough Pool Village During the Second World War
About
As part of National Heritage week, join us for a fascinating exploration of life in Bromborough Pool Village during the Second World War, drawing on original historical records preserved at the Wirral Archives Service. We are delighted to welcome guest speaker William Meredith, who will talk attendees through a selection of archive materials. Together, these sources reveal how the war shaped the village, its industries and the everyday experiences of the local community during one of the most significant periods in modern history.
The session will explore the impact of wartime restrictions, industry, civil defence and community life in Bromborough Pool, offering a unique opportunity to uncover stories from the village’s past and gain insight into how local people lived and worked throughout the challenges of wartime Britain.
Whether you have a personal connection to Bromborough Pool Village, an interest in local history, or a passion for Second World War heritage, this event provides an engaging introduction to the rich collections held at Wirral Archives and Records Management.
Being held at Autism Together's Cafe in Bromborough Pool (fully accessible), you will be able to purchase light refreshments and be within the village and its historical surroundings.
