Pollinators in the park: a guided walk

Pollinators in the park: a guided walk

hero

About

Join entomologist Liam Olds for a guided pollinator walk through Singleton Park and Brynmill Park, exploring the rich diversity of pollinating insects that thrive in these urban green spaces.

Discover the fascinating species that bring colour and life to our parks and gardens – from bumblebees and honeybees to butterflies, hoverflies and other vital pollinators. Along the way, you’ll learn how to spot and identify different groups, gain insight into their lifecycles and ecological roles and understand why they are so important for healthy ecosystems.

A perfect opportunity to appreciate the buzzing life of Swansea’s parks and gain a deeper understanding of the pollinators that help keep our world in bloom.

All welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Booking required.

This event is supported by Local Places for Nature 2025-27 grant funding provided by Welsh Government, administered by WCVA and managed by Swansea Council in Swansea.

Peillwyr yn y parc: taith dywys

Ymunwch â'r entomolegydd Liam Olds am daith dywys i ddod o hyd i beillwyr ym Mharc Singleton a Pharc Brynmill, gan archwilio'r amrywiaeth gyfoethog o bryfed peillio sy'n ffynnu yn y mannau gwyrdd trefol hyn.

Dewch i ddarganfod y rhywogaethau diddorol sy'n dod â lliw a bywyd i'n parciau a'n gerddi - o gacwn a gwenyn mêl i ieir bach yr haf, pryfed hofran a pheillwyr hanfodol eraill. Ar hyd y ffordd, byddwch yn dysgu sut i adnabod a nodi gwahanol grwpiau, yn cael mewnwelediad i'w cylchau bywyd a'u rolau ecolegol ac yn deall pam eu bod mor bwysig ar gyfer ecosystemau iach.

Cyfle perffaith i werthfawrogi bywyd prysur y parciau yn Abertawe a chael dealltwriaeth ddyfnach o'r peillwyr sy'n helpu ein byd i flodeuo.

Mae croeso I bawb. Mae'n rhaid i blant fod yng nghwmni oedolyn.

Cefnogir y digwyddiad hwn gan gyllid grant Lleoedd Lleol ar gyfer Natur 2025-27, a ddarperir gan Lywodraeth Cymru, a weinyddir gan Gyngor Gweithredu Gwirfoddol Cymru ac a reolir gan Gyngor Abertawe yn Abertawe.
