Saturday morning Gravel rides, from Chevin Cycles, Otley
About
It’s Gravel Time in Otley. Welcome to the first ever GOT ride.
Otley Cycle Club is pleased to be working with Chevin Cycles to put on its first, free to join, Gravel bike ride, open to both club members and non-members, on Saturday, 30th May.
Riders will meet at Chevin Cycles at 9.00 am, returning to Otley around 1.00 pm (ish).
The ride, over 27 miles, will be led by experienced cycle coaches at a moderate pace. Heading north of the river on a variety of tracks through Riffa Wood, eventually getting to Muddy Boots Café, returning through Harewood and Danefield. Although the route is designed for Gravel Bikes. Mountain Bikes are welcome too. The ride will be a steady, enjoyable pace with regular regrouping.
If popular, the Club plans to put on more Gravel rides, perhaps every two weeks through the Summer, with Beginner’s Road Cycle rides (see separate booking) in the intervening weeks.
Helmets are required on all club rides. Please make sure yours is in good condition. You do not need specialist cycling clothing but do make sure you are reasonably waterproof, have sweets (for energy), money for coffee and cakes and a full water bottle.
Older children (aged 16 and over) are welcome on the ride if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Otley Cycle Club operates a ‘try before you buy’ policy for non-members, so feel free to try this, or one or two other club rides this Summer.
The Club is very proud to celebrate its 100th birthday next year.
