Join Jenny for a Batik Workshop!Batik is a fabric-dyeing method that uses wax to block out colour. You apply hot wax to the fabric in a design, then paint over it with ink. The ink only colours the unwaxed areas. Once the wax is removed, your design is revealed.
We offer two options for making your batik bag:
Option 1: Pre-designed Patterns
We apply the wax design for you ahead of time. You paint the bag with your choice of inks. We will iron off the wax afterwards so you can take the bag home. Open to all ages (required for under 14s).

Option 2: The Full Process
You do every step yourself: design the image on the bag, apply the hot wax, paint the inks, and iron off the wax to finish. For ages 14+ only.
Our space is fully accessible and welcoming to everyone in the community. We love seeing people of all ages and all abilities creating side-by-side. Parents & guardians must stay at the venue if the individual is under 14 or requires support.
