Shit Runners Club Strength & Conditioning Taster Session

Running is great. Staying strong enough to keep running is even better.

Join us for a relaxed and practical Strength & Conditioning Taster Session exclusively for the Shit Runners community, led by Lou Turner of Evolve Somatics.

This isn't a bootcamp, fitness test or military-style workout. It's an opportunity to learn some of the fundamental movement, strength and mobility skills that can help runners move better, feel stronger and reduce their risk of injury.

During the session we'll explore:

🏃 Foot drills for mobility, strength and stability

💪 Whole-body tension and how to effectively brace your core

⚡ Functional movement and bodyweight strength exercises

🏋️ Safe and effective deadlifting technique and form

🔔 Fundamental kettlebell skills including the hike, swing, around the world, halo and squat

🌬️ The role of breathing in strength training, performance, recovery and overall wellbeing

Whether you're a complete beginner or already spend time in the gym, this session will provide practical skills and techniques that you can take away and use immediately.

As always, no egos, no pressure and no expectation to be "good" at any of it. Come along, learn something new and discover how a little strength work can support your running journey.

Please make sure you're wearing comfortable clothing that you can easily move around in: sit, stand, lie, roll, swing etc. We'd also suggest you bring a bottle of water, some snacks and perhaps a towel too. If you have a mat, can you bring that too please.
