Autumn Equinox Gathering at Grey Wethers Double Stone Circle
About
MARK THE TURNING OF THE SEASONS THROUGH CEREMONY, BALANCE, AND CONNECTION WITH THE STONE CIRCLESAt the Autumn Equinox, day and night stand in balance. The long days of summer begin to give way to the darker half of the year, creating a natural moment to reflect on the harvest of our year: what we have grown, created and brought to fruition, and what we wish to take with us into the darker half of the year.
Our gathering will take place at Grey Wethers, one of Dartmoor's most remarkable prehistoric monuments. This rare double stone circle carries a distinct energetic quality within each of its two rings. The northern circle holds a masculine, active energy, one of movement, expression and outward engagement. The southern circle holds a feminine, receptive energy, one of inward reflection, stillness and wisdom. We will move between the two circles as part of our ceremony, working with these complementary energies to explore where balance is needed in ourselves, in our relationships, and in our wider community.
This is also a threshold moment in the year: we are moving from the light, active half of the year into the darker, more inward half. Grey Wethers, with its ancient attunement to these rhythms, provides a powerful and supportive setting for that transition.
Together we will honour both the gifts of the year so far and the wisdom that comes through letting go. This gathering offers a chance to pause, reconnect with the rhythms of the natural world, and mark an important point in the Celtic Wheel of the year alongside others.
