Sight loss can reduce independence, lead to social isolation, and impact mental health, all of which affect overall wellbeing. At Suffolk Sight, everything we do focuses on improving people’s wellbeing and mental health. Our emotional support service plays a vital role in this, providing a safe space for individuals to talk, be heard, and build resilience as they adjust to life with sight loss. By offering compassionate support and helping people regain confidence and connection, we empower individuals to maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life.Our first ever Suffolk Sight Firewalk will support our emotional support service offering an evening full of excitement will conquer your fears and discover your inner strength! Every step will help raise funds for Suffolk Sight’s emotional support service
The firewalk is a barefoot walk over red-hot coals. It’s the ultimate test of courage.
Completing a firewalk is a life-affirming experience. You'll learn to conquer fear, self-doubt, and limiting beliefs. The symbolic act represents the ability to overcome any obstacle and achieve anything you set your mind to – if you can walk on fire, you can find the courage to do anything!
You must be at least 18 years old to take part in the firewalk. This is an accessible event - if you have sight loss or a visual impairment and want to take part - you can! Get in touch with us for a discussion about ways we can support you to complete the firewalk
Entry is £25 per person and we ask that firewalkers pledge to raise at least £50 in sponsorship for Suffolk Sight. Please create a fundraising page on our Justgiving page by searching for suffolksightfirewalk2026. The link is https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/suffolksightfirewalk2026
If you would prefer to raise money using a paper sponsorship form, please contact us and we will send you a form. Please note that the minimum sponsorship of £50 must be credited to your fundraising page by 22nd September 2026 or received by Suffolk Sight if you prefer to use a paper form.
Spaces for this experience are limited, so we recommend that you register early to avoid disappointment.
No previous experience is required. You will be taken through a training seminar by qualified instructors, preparing you to face the flames. The experts running our event have guided thousands of people through firewalks, so you can be assured that you are in safe hands.
