This lecture focuses on David Medalla’s media-crossing experiments from the 1960s
and 1970s. It argues that his use of words and images—always on the threshold of
becoming one another—produces a correspondence between microcosm and
macrocosm through which human migration appears as a smaller-scale
manifestation of planetary mobility.
