Join us for another creative workshop to shape your public spaces and places in the Heart of Kendal on 14 July 2026.Workshops will be held over three different session times so book a space at a time that best suits you.

• 1:30pm till 3:00pm
• 5:00pm till 6:30pm
Following the success of the design workshops held in April 2026. Come and join us for a further creative workshop to share your thoughts on very first stage initial designs following your feedback.
These discussions will help feedback into initial concept designs for the heart of the town centre that celebrates what makes your town unique. It will be an opportunity to provide more feedback and ideas to ensure designs that are aspirational, fit for purpose, and meaningful to all users.
Westmorland and Furness Council, in partnership with WSP, HemingwayDesign, and BE Group, is leading an exciting project to revitalise Kendal’s Market Place and its surrounding streets.
This is part of several unique opportunities to re-establish Market Place as the vibrant social, cultural, and commercial heart of Kendal, while enhancing strong connections to Kent Street, Stramongate, Stricklandgate, Highgate, and Finkle Street.
The ambition is to spark long-term vitality in the town centre - strengthening local identity, supporting cultural activities and traders, and creating welcoming, accessible spaces that encourage social interaction, play, and celebration.
We hope you can join us to share your valued thoughts and insights to help design a sustainable, adaptable, and future-ready public realm for Kendal town centre.
