If you’ve never been to a kirtan, here’s the idea. Kirtan is call-and-response chanting to the Maha Mantras, sung together with instruments. Many devotees find it calming, a bit like meditation, but shared and joyful.
At the heart of it is a simple practice: repeating the names of God. In our Vedic tradition, sound is sacred, and these ancient names carry a spiritual presence and chanting them is a direct and accessible way to feel connected to Krsna.
Come with an open mind, bring a friend or the family, stay for as long or as little as you like, and enjoy a delicious meal with a friendly community afterwards.
