Book Beats – led by Akshay Sharma Ages 12-14Beatboxing, looping, and Rap with Mr Shay, Leicester’s Poet Laureate: Interactive sessions inspired by well-known books, where participants explore storytelling, rhythm, lyric writing, and performance through beatboxing, live looping, rap, and spoken word. For children aged 12-14 years. Mr Shay is Leicester’s inaugural Poet Laureate, a poet, musician, beatboxer and educator who has spent more than a decade inspiring young people and communities through spoken word, music and creative storytelling.
Maximum 20 children per session. Children remain the responsibility of their parent or carer at all times, and a responsible adult must remain in the library for the duration of the session to supervise and ensure their welfare. Supported by Inspiring Music’s Carolyn Adams on Friday 24th July; Natasha Thompson on Friday 31st July.
