LLUMETRIS (often spelled Ilumetris) is a contemporary jazz quintet led by the internationally award-winning UK saxophonist and composer Tom Thorp. The ensemble blends virtuosic jazz improvisation, complex rhythmic grooves, lyrical melodies, and elements of spoken word. The Band Lineup of the quintet consists of the following highly accomplished musicians:
Tom Thorp: Saxophone and Bass Clarinet
Neil Yates: Trumpet and Flugelhorn
Andy Stamatakis-Brown: Piano
Grant Russell: Double Bass
John Arnesen: Drums
The group's signature project centers around their critically acclaimed 2024 album Here, There be Monsters..., released on AMP Records. The music explores folklore, bringing stories of mythical beings and creatures from world mythology to life—including the Minotaur, Phoenix, dragons, giants, and pixies.
